Nationals at angels Tonight, the Washington Nationals will take on the LA Angels in the first game of the three-game series. The Nationals have been just about as bad as I would have expected them to be this season. They are sitting with a 3-7 record, and I have already eliminated them from playoff contention. On the other hand, the Angels have been playing decent baseball so far this year. They are currently 5-4 much due to the fact that their offense has been putting up a ton of runs so far this season.  As you can see above whether they are winning or they are losing, the Angles find a way to put runs up on the board.
The pitchers in tonight’s game will be Patrick Corbin for the Nats and Jose Suarez for the Angles. Both of these pitchers have been terrible in the games that they have played so far this season. Suarez has one start where he gave up 8 hits, 7 runs, and 2 HR in four innings to the Mariners. He has an ERA of 12.46 through just one game, but he was fooking awful in game 1. Corbin has not been much better for the Nationals. He has two starts this season and in both of the games the Nationals lost 7-2. Corbin gave up four runs in three innings and then 6 runs through six innings. He has been abysmal since 2020 and I don’t see that changing here. As I established above both of these pitchers are horse shit. Neither has a win through the first couple weeks of the season and if it was possible, I would bet against both of them tonight. Dodgers at diamondbacks Tonight, we will see the Dodgers take on the Diamondbacks in Arizona. The Dodgers have had a pretty good start to the season as they have opened up with 4 wins and 2 losses. The Diamondbacks are playing pretty decent ball themselves as they have started the season 3-3 with two of their wins coming against the Dodgers. These two sides have already seen each other 4 times this season so I’m sure it’s going to be an exciting event just like the last couple of games.  The two pitchers who are starting tonight will be Dustin May for the Dodgers and Merrill Kelley for the Diamondbacks. These two pitchers have already faced off against each other once this season where neither pitcher allowed a run. May allowed 3 hits and got 4 K’s while Kelley also allowed 3 hits and 4 K’s. The final score of this game ended 2-1 since the relievers let in a couple of runs once they came in. Although these two pitchers had stunning performances the last time that they started, it’s hard to repeat performances that were that good.
When the Dodgers win, they win big. Besides their two losses to the Diamondbacks the Dodgers have been scoring a ton of runs. In their wins this season they have scored a stunning 46 runs. I don’t see them losing to the Diamondbacks for a third time tonight and I also think that they are going to blow the Diamondbacks out of the water. MLB opening day is finally here and I could not be more excited. Now is the time to bet on NRFI at 2pm and live bet the next at bat for specific players. It’s a gambling degenerates dream. But in this article, I wanted to give a few of my predictions about this MLB season as well as a NRFI parley at the bottom. Without further adieu, here are the divisional winners
American East: This is by far one of the Hardest Divisions in baseball. The Yankees and the Red Sox are both historic teams and it is hard to pick a winner here. In my opinion though I believe that this is going to be a tight battle between three teams to actually go on and win the division. The battle will be between the Yankees, Blue Jays, and Rays. All of these teams have tremendous upside and could each make a run not only to win the division, but also in the playoffs. But, since I have to pick one of them to win the East, I’m going to have to go with the Yankees. Although they are absolute choke artists in the playoffs the Yankees have more than enough talent every single year to make a run at the World Series. Not being able to finish the job in the playoffs is what they Yankees need to work on, I don’t think making the playoffs is going to be a problem for them.
American Central: This division is pretty much the exact opposite of the AL East in that it is hard to pick a winner, but only because nobody is very impressive. Yes, I know that the Guardians had a little Cinderella story and made it to the Divisional round of the playoffs last year, but that just because they had some young talent that showed up in a big way. And I don’t think that it will happen for them again. The rest of the teams in the division are also not very impressive. We have the White Sox and the Twins which both put up some shitters last season and the other two teams don’t even need to be mentioned for their lack of being a real baseball team. Although this one is a hard one, I am going with the White Sox to win this division only because they underperformed last year, and I think they’re going to come out red hot to prove that they’re better than what we’ve seen from them in the past.
American West: This division is the only one that I believe is not even going to be close. Once we hit the All-Star break, we may already have a winner to this division because of just how bad the teams in here are. The Athletics and the Rangers have no business even trying to win the division this season and may as well just roll over and die now. The Angels have some talent, but always decide that this talent means nothing to them as they’re going to let Mike Trout and Ohtani rot in their organization for another year instead of letting them have a chance at winning a World Series or even making it to the playoffs. The Mariners surprised me slightly last year with their playoff push and winning a few games in the playoffs. But ultimately, I don’t believe that their team is good enough to be able to compete with the Astros for the top spot in this division. Although the Astros are pieces of shit who love cheating, they’re still coming out of the AL West.
National East: This division is a sneaky hard one as well. Even though the Nationals decided that after the World Series they were just going to give away all of the players that the fans enjoyed watching, and most of the time I forget that the Marlins aren’t a minor league team, the other three teams are money. The Braves, Mets, and Phillies all have the talent to win the NL East this year. Even though Philadelphia made a World Series push last season the Braves are the current favorites to win the division. In order to pick between these three teams, we have to look at the facts. The Phillies are a great team that the Nationals have just been feeding players to in the last couple of years. They just added Trea Turner in the off season, and They are looking good. The only thing that isn’t looking good for them is that their first baseman, Rhys Hoskins tore his ACL during a spring training game. The Mets and the Braves finished the 2021-2022 season with the exact same record and both teams are going to be even better this year with the further development of a few young players. For this division I really see it as a coin toss, but I’m going to have to go with the New York Mets.
National Central: The National League Central this year is going to once again be a race between the Cardinals and the Brewers. Some people are going to get mad and say that they Cubs have a chance too, but this simply isn’t true. The Cardinals are the odds-on favorites to win, and I agree with the sportsbooks on this one. The Cardinals have proven themselves as a contender over the year while winning multiple World Series as well. Although I think Milwaukee is going to give them a run for their money, the Cardinals are going to win this division.
National West: This is another race between two teams to win the division and those two teams are the Padres and the Dodgers. The Dodgers have been even more dominant than the Astros in the last decade as they have won the division 9 out of 11 times. The Dodgers also have one of the most dominant rosters in baseball, so how do the Padres stand a chance? The Padres have been building a sneaky good roster over the last couple of years with big names like Manny Machado, Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr. (once he gets back from the minors). I don’t only believe that the Padres are going to find a way to give the Dodgers a run for their money, I believe that are going to beat them out for the first-place spot in the west. The WBC championship is set to take place tonight as the US of A faces off against Japan. Japan is a perfect 6-0 in the tournament with their last win coming in an absolute 9th inning thriller against Mexico.
The USA haven’t been bad either as they are sitting with a 5-1 record and Trea Turner has been absolutely lighting it up for us with 4 HR this tournament.
This is going to be the greatest battle between USA and Japan since WWII, and I would classify this matchup as must-see TV.
The matchup tonight features Merrill Kelley of the Diamondbacks on the mound for the United States and Shota Imanaga on the mound for Japan. Merrill Kelley has only pitched once so far for the US in the WBC where he allowed two runs on four hits to Columbia in their group game. I expect him to put up a much better performance tonight. I was surprised when I saw that Imanaga was getting the start tonight instead of Ohtani, but I do suspect that is things start to go south, Ohtani may make an appearance tonight. This game is going to be a thriller as both teams have been playing so well this tournament and I had a hard time deciding what I was going to go with here.
