Championship: USA vs japan
The WBC championship is set to take place tonight as the US of A faces off against Japan. Japan is a perfect 6-0 in the tournament with their last win coming in an absolute 9th inning thriller against Mexico.
The USA haven’t been bad either as they are sitting with a 5-1 record and Trea Turner has been absolutely lighting it up for us with 4 HR this tournament.
This is going to be the greatest battle between USA and Japan since WWII, and I would classify this matchup as must-see TV.
The matchup tonight features Merrill Kelley of the Diamondbacks on the mound for the United States and Shota Imanaga on the mound for Japan. Merrill Kelley has only pitched once so far for the US in the WBC where he allowed two runs on four hits to Columbia in their group game. I expect him to put up a much better performance tonight. I was surprised when I saw that Imanaga was getting the start tonight instead of Ohtani, but I do suspect that is things start to go south, Ohtani may make an appearance tonight. This game is going to be a thriller as both teams have been playing so well this tournament and I had a hard time deciding what I was going to go with here. It may be patriotism, or some may call it bias, but tonight I have to go with the red, white, and blue. Hammer: USA ML Hammer: Total o10.5 Sprinkle: Trea Turner HR - Jacob
