Jazz Vs. Heat
It’s that time of year again; flowers are starting to bloom, it’s getting darker later, and Jimmy Butler is playing like one of the best basketball players on earth.
As this very professional graphic shows, we are in the #JiMVP portion of the season where Jimmy dominates games and is the most efficient player on the court. In his last 5, Jimmy’s been averaging 28 pts 7.2 rebs and 5.2 asts. The most impressive thing about this is he’s doing it on 61% from the field. Last Friday vs the Cavaliers Jimmy scored 33 points off of just 16 shots. The Heat have been decent recently but looking through their game log there’s one overarching trend: many of these games are TIGHT and 7.5 is a lot of points to eat. The Heat have played in a league-high 49 close games this season (a “close” game is any game where the scoring margin is within five at any point in the final five minutes)
The team that has played in the second highest “close” games this season: The Utah Jazz
The Jazz are the big underdog story of the year with everyone counting them out before the season even started, but after a scorching hot start to the season people learned to respect them. Much like the Heat, the Jazz games have been tight, and they just recently stopped the bleeding of a four-game losing streak. I think that the Jazz will ride the momentum of their last two games and show up against the Heat in Miami.
The Pick: Seeing both of these teams' proclivities for close games I believe Miami will win but Utah will cover therefore: Utah +7.5
