Every Pick from round 1
The NFL draft is finally here so that every fan can be disappointed by the picks that their organization makes to better their franchise. The NFL draft can be an exciting time for college athletes, their families, and anyone who is looking to bet a payday from their significant other at this time.
But in this article, we are going to go through the whole first round and who every team should select at their pick. Side note this is predictions based off of the current draft order and not accounting for any trades that may happen.
-Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
2. Houston Texans
With the second pick in the draft, I am sure that the Houston Texans will also be looking to add someone new to their quarterback room. The Texans have been struggling big time with Davis Mills at QB ever since their last QB decided to molest a bunch of massage workers. With this pick I believe that the best pick that the Texans could make is C.J. Stroud, so they won’t be doing this so let’s look at the other options. There has been a large uproar recently for Kentucky QB Will Levis and how he may even go number one over Bryce Young, no shot, but Will Levis is a decent QB with mobility and a wild arm so he could be a good pick here. I am going to say that the Texans go with another guy though. Someone who was getting a lot of hype ealier in the year but has fallen off a little bit recently. Yup, Anthony Richardson will go second in the draft for his mobility and hit decision making. -Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
3. Arizona Cardinals
This is a pick that I do truly believe will be traded because the Cardinals are so far from a good team that I don’t think that anyone is going to help them in this position. But since were not accounting for trades here, let’s look at what the Cardinals need. The Cardinals could use a WR since they just lost Deandre Hopkins but it’s too early to pick one of those. I am thinking the Cardinals go defense with either a LB or DL player. So, this means either Jalen Carter or Will Anderson Jr. Even though the Cardinals are obviously not looking to be a Superbowl contender next season, with all of the drama surrounding Jalen Carter right now and their need for an edge rusher immediately, I think the Cardinals go with Will Anderson in this spot. -Will Anderson Jr., LB, Alabama
4. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are another team in the top 5 who are in desperate need of a QB who can help their actually pretty talented team reach the next level. Their options here are going to be Will Levis and CJ Stroud. The Indianapolis Colts seem like an organization who values intelligence on and off of the football field and for that reason I believe that they will be picking the quarterback that scored higher than an 18% on their S2 Cognition Test. The Colts are also an organization that I can’t remember having a quarterback that isn’t white since Jacoby Brissett started a couple of games for the team. For these reason Levis it is. -Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
5. Seattle Seahawks
Unlike most of the teams that pick before them, the Seahawks are not in need of a QB at all. Geno Smith was a shot in the dark last season that worked out way better for them than what I would have expected. For these reasons the Seahawks will not be drafting a QB with this pick, they’re going to be going defense here. And with this pick the Seahawks are going to completely disregard the legal charges against Jalen Carter and draft him anyways. Jalen Carter is the best defensive player in the draft and the Seahawks are going to do their best to bring the Legion of Boom back to Seattle. -Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia
6. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are going to be the first team in the draft to take someone out of the secondary. It’s no secret that the Lions defense was subpar last season and their offense carried them all the way through the season and almost to the playoffs, so the defense is going to have to help them out a little bit next season. Their Line could use some work, but I think that they are going to work on that part a little bit later in the draft since they have two first round picks. With this pick the Lions are going to be drafting Devon Witherspoon. I know that this might come as a surprise to some people as he is a little bit undersized, but his ball skills are pretty insane and I think that he would be a great addition to the Lions secondary. -Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
7. Las Vegas Raiders
This is another pick that I think is going to be traded because the Raiders want Devon Witherspoon, and he is going to be picked right before the Raiders get their turn. But no trades remember, so were actually going to throw out a bold prediction for this one. The Raiders need a QB battle in their locker room, and they aren’t going to get that from Brian Hoyer test Jimmy G. No, they need a young rookie QB who Jimmy G can help develop and make it so that the Raiders have a future. This is why the Raiders will be drafting CJ Stroud. Now I know that many people are going to think that this is stupid because the Raiders just signed Jimmy G, but this seems like a very solid choice for me. The Raiders need a future that Jimmy is not going to give them so give me Stroud. -CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State
8. Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are going to be going defense here. Although their best QB on the depth chart right now is Desmond Ridder I believe that all of the top talent QB’s are already going to be off the board at this point. I also think that the Falcons are going to give Ridder a chance before they move onto drafting someone else. I think that the Falcons are going to look to strengthen their D line with an edge rusher in Tyree Wilson. Wilson is exactly what the Falcons need in order to make their 31st ranked pressure defense better in the 2023 season. -Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech
9. Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears are going to go with an offensive player at 9. They have a young QB in Justin Fields and their running game is solid, but they need someone to block for the run as well as someone to help protect Justin Fields. This is why they’re going to go with the OL out of Northwester Peter Skoronski. Peter was an absolute force while he was at Northwestern where he started 33 games and I believe that he is going to help Justin Fields have more protection. -Peter Skoronski, OL, Northwestern
10. Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are a great team, but after they lost some key players in the offseason, they need to make some moves in this draft in order to be Superbowl contenders again. The Eagles are going to need to replace some people in the secondary. This is why they are going to go with Christian Gonzalez here. The general population is saying that the eagles are going RB in this spot, but I think that it is way too high even with a talent like Bijan Robinson in the draft. Christian Gonzalez is a high-level talent that is going to bring Philly’s defense even more talent than it already has. -Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
11. Tennessee Titans
This is one of the picks this round that I am torn with. I know that the Titans are going to going offense here I am just not sure which position yet. The Titans will take a QB like Will Levis or CJ Stroud if they drop to them. The Titans also need some major receiver help though, but it still could be too early to draft a receiver even if they are the best in the class. Even though its early though I’m still saying that they get some receiver help. I think that they’re going with Jaxon Smith-Njigba with this pick. It’s too early to take Hendon Hooker with this pick and Jaxon is the real deal. -Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
12. Houston Texans
Now, the Texans have their second pick in the first round, and they are going to go defense this time. Their defense is just as bad as their offense, and they need help on both fronts. The pick is going to be Lukas Van Ness out of Iowa. He was an absolute stud in college and that is not going to change in the NFL. The Texans also have a million more picks in this draft so they will be able to get some WR help them. -Lukas Van Ness, DE, Iowa
13. Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are in a world of hurt right now after trading away their franchise QB and being an underdog in the NFC North for the first time in the last 10 years. The Jets also took Allen Lazard from the Packers and I do not think that Jordan Love is going to be able to do much without the necessary weapons. The Packers might draft a TE here, but I actually see them going with a WR in this spot. Unfortunately for them the best receiver in the draft is going to go a couple picks before, but that is going to be of no concern for the Packers because my favorite receiver in the draft is still going to be available. -Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College
14. New England Patriots
The New England Patriots are going to go with a secondary pick here. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball that just didn’t really pan out last season, but in this spot, they need to make a bold move and that will be in the secondary. The top two corners will probably be off the board by this point but that is fine because there is a lot of talent still on the board. There are two potential corners that I think that they could go with, but I think that they’re going to end up with a solid Big 10 corner. -Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State
15. New York Jets
The New York Jets are on an absolute high right now after getting a ton of offensive weapons including AARON FUCKING RODGERS just a couple of days ago. So, the question now is, after everything that they have done in the off season, what are they going to do now. The answer to this question is that they are going to get their veteran QB some protection. A talented 6’6” and 313LB big man out of Ohio State will be joining the Patriots this draft. -Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State
16. Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders are in need of some help on both sides of the ball. It seems as though they have moved onto Sam Howell and are looking to stick with him for a little bit since they haven’t moved on anyone in this off season. I believe that the Commanders are also going to be looking for some protection for their QB. And the best way that they can do this is by picking up Darnell Wright from Tennessee. Wright played every game as a senior at Tennessee and he did very well in making sure that Hendon Hooker had time in the pocket. The Commanders need someone like this to keep their young QB from getting flustered in the pocket. -Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
17. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are yet another team that is going to be picking up an offensive lineman in the first round of the draft. They have a very mobile QB, but Najee Harris was unable to do anything productive last season behind the offensive line that they currently have. In order to get their run game going again I believe the only solution is Broderick Jones. He has a ton of experience against NFL sized pass rushers, and I think he will be a great addition to the Steelers OL. -Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
18. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions also have another pick in the first round where they will work to make their defense better yet again. They took a corner with their first pick and now they are going to take someone to help upfront with the DL. Calijah Kancey has gotten much better while getting more experience in college and I think that he is ready to step in right away and make an immediate impact on the NFL level. -Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I’ve figured out that the middle of this draft is going to be pretty boring since there will be almost no skill position players taken here, but we have another OT being taken here. The best OT’s are going to be taken not too long before this pick but I believe that this player out of Oklahoma is still quality. Even though Oklahoma had a down year Anton Harris still found a way to show the world how good he is against basically everybody. -Anton Harrison, OT, Oklahoma
20. Seattle Seahawks
As I said before the Seahawks are going to do their best to rebuild the Legion of Boom in this draft. A lot of people have them taking a safety here but since I have them getting Jalen Carter in the top 10, they are going to need some edge help as well. This is where I think yet another Georgia player is going to get drafted. Nolan Smith is a heavy hitter out of Georgia who is quick on his feet and although some people see him as small, he’s going to be just fine once he puts on some weight. -Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia
21. LA Chargers
The Chargers need some major help in their secondary. They have a good defensive line and a couple of good players in their secondary, but they could still use some help. Even though some people are saying Austin Ekeler is going to get traded during the draft and so the charger go RB, I’m not thinking that happens. The Chargers are going to get a steal of a player with Deonte Banks at pick 21. Deonte Banks should have probably gone earlier in this draft, but I don’t think he will. So, congrats on the steal Chargers. -Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland
22. Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have a couple of options in this draft. They either trade Lamar Jackson, which they won’t, or they draft a WR to help him out, which they will do. The Ravens are going to get an absolute steal here as well. The second-best receiver according to the power rankings is still going to be available and they’re going to snag him at 22. Jordan Addison is a speedy little receiver who is going to be Marquese Brown 2.0. He has all the talent that a top level receiver needs and the best part is that he won’t be dropping every pass thrown his way. -Jordan Addison, WR, USC
23. Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings are going to be looking for some offensive help here too. There was some talk about them picking up Hendon Hooker in this spot, but I think they’re going to pick up a quality WR in order to give some more help to Kirk Cousins on offense. Since the release of Adam Thielen the Vikings need a true WR2 and I think that they are going to grab him here. Quentin Johnston is going to be a solid addition to the Viking offense and give them the weapon they need now that Thielen is gone. -Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU
24. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to help their defense out a little bit more with this draft pick. They have a solid all-around team and a shit ton of weapons on offense already and some quality players on defense too. But, with this pick I think they are going to get an edge rusher. Imagine Myles Murphy and Josh Allen both running at you one 3/4ths of the downs from scrimmage, it’s a scary thought. And this paired with their offense is going to be enough to get them deep in the playoffs next season barring some injuries. -Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson
25. New York Giants
The New York Giants are in desperate need of some secondary help. Their offense proved itself last season and I now think that they just need a little bit of help in the secondary in order to put all of the pieces together. The best corners in this draft have already been taken at this point, but Emmanuel Forbes is the last of the top tier corners in this draft. Forbes should be able to give the Giants secondary some more stability as well as some depth and so this is going to be a very important piece that they pick up. -Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi St.
26. Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are in need of some help at Quarterback after the pitiful performance that Dak put up last season. But, in Jerry’s World, that will not be happening. What the Cowboys will be doing with this pick is drafting a TE to pick up the slack that Dalton Schultz left behind. The Cowboys still have Sprinkle on the roster, but they are going to need some insane talent here to keep moving in the right direction toward a Superbowl run. Dalton Kincaid out of Utah is exactly what Dallas needs, he is a threat in the receiving game and he’s a great blocker, so check and check. -Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah
27. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are going to be looking for some defensive help in this draft and they are going to do this by trying to build some depth at the Linebacker position. Although some may think differently, Von Millers career is not going to last forever, in fact it may not last very much longer at all. It wouldn’t surprise me if they draft a young LB and Von Miller tries to teach him the ropes before his retirement. -Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas
28. Cincinnati Bengals
This is the time that everyone has been waiting for, Bijan Robinson is going to be taken off the board. The Bengals do already have a great running back in Joe Mixon, but if they bring in a rookie RB it is going to allow them to have much more cap space since they will not have to pay a veteran RB. Bijan Robinson is an elite talent, and a lot of people see him going in the top 15 in the draft, but that’s way too early. Now is the right time for the Bengals to step in and take one of the greatest players in this years draft. -Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
29. New Orleans Saints
The Saints need some serious help on the defensive line, and they should be able to get a decent player here. Although he is not the quickest with his first step and has a lack of strength sometimes when pass rushing, Will McDonald is great against the run, and he will continue this streak in the NFL. He is going to help the Saints a ton with their run defense and this is going to make it so that they are able to get the QB to throw the ball more against their elite secondary in the coming season. -Will McDonald IV, Iowa St., DL
30. Philadelphia Eagles
The runner up to the Superbowl is now going to pick for the second time in round 1. They are going to grab some more defensive help in this spot. Even though they already drafted a CB with their first pick I can see them trying to get a better pass rush going with this pick. The Eagles defensive line is getting a little old and adding some youth now to learn off of the older linemen. This is why Adetomiwa Adebawore is going to be taken here. He may not be 100% ready to begin with, but after learning from some elite talent for a year or two he should be great in the NFL. -Adetomiwa Adebawore, DL, Northwestern
31. Kansas City Chiefs
And with the final pick in the first round the Kansas City Chiefs select an edge rusher. The Chiefs are almost a flawless team at this point. Everyone thought they were going to take a step back after the trade of Tyreek Hill and they went on to win the Superbowl. The only thing that they actually do struggle with is their pass rush struggled at times last year. Adding an edge rusher like BJ Ojulari to the team would be the final step in helping the Chiefs become perfection. -BJ Ojulari, EDGE, LSU

Lamar Jackson landing spots
With Lamar Jackson saying that he has requested a trade from the Ravens I felt as though it was a good time to write an article detailing what his best options are going forward since it doesn’t look likely that he will be going back to the Ravens.
Here are the top 5 places that I believe would be a good fit for Lamar as long as he leaves the Ravens:
5. New York Jets: The Jets have made it no secret that they are in the market for a new QB. With their current trainwreck of a quarterback room with only Zach Wilson and some dude named Chris Streveler on their current depth chart, they need someone desperately. The Jets have also loaded up on offensive weapons during free agency which would make it an attractive landing spot for any quarterback. The Jets have also made it clear that they are willing to pay for a franchise QB if necessary.
The only problem with the Jets for Lamar Jackson is that they seem to have their eyes set on Aaron Rodgers.
The other problem that the Jets could potentially have, is that they don’t have a top 10 draft pick this year. A top ten draft pick seems like a must for the Ravens to be comfortable enough to give up Lamar Jackson. If they don’t get the promise of an extremely talented rookie prospect, I don’t see the Ravens moving on from Lamar just yet.
4. Houston Texans: The Houston Texans appear to be in the market for a QB as well since I very much doubt that they are sticking with Davis Mills for the long run. And the good thing for the Texans is that they have the fourth most cap space in the NFL. They are sitting with $37.1 million in cap space and that’s a great thing for them since they have 12 picks in the 2023 draft. Since the situation with the Texans is looking like they have a bright future ahead of them I don’t really know if Lamar would be the right fit for them right now. In my opinion I believe that it would be smart for the Texans to draft a rookie QB with the second pick in the draft so that the QB could grow with the team, and they can have him on a rookie deal for a little bit. Right now, it looks like they would be drafting Bryce Young. But, if the Texans do decide that they want to win now, then I believe that it would be smart to try with Lamar even though it would take up most of their cap space. Lamar is a QB who can win and if the Texans have a good enough draft, they could trade the Ravens their second overall pick and some more, for a quality couple of seasons with Lamar. 3. Washington Commanders: I’m really not sure if the Commanders are looking to upgrade their QB room at this time. They drafted Sam Howell a couple of years back and they played him toward the end of the season so that he could get some experience playing in some real NFL games, and he didn’t play half bad. In his last game of the season against the Cowboys he went 11-19 for 169 yards 1 TD and 1 INT. However, the Commanders did just sign Jacoby Brissett who has a ton of experience in the NFL and could be a good person to help Howell adapt to the NFL game. The Commanders currently have just over 8.5 million in cap space which probably wouldn’t be enough to sign Lamar Jackson unless they move some funds around since Lamar wants guaranteed money. If Lamar did end up on the Commanders, he would have some decent receivers for the first time in a while (excluding Mark Andrews). Terry McLaurin is a top-level talent and I think it would be extremely exciting to see what Lamar could do with him as well as some of the other talent on the team. I also know that Commanders fans would love this move as their organization is looking to change owners and I have seen more edits of Lamar Jackson in a Commanders jersey than I can count.
2. Indianapolis Colts:
The Indianapolis Colts could be a great fit for Lamar Jackson. They have elite talent on offense in Jonathan Taylor and they have depth at WR with Pittman, Pierce, and McKenzie. Even thought these receivers aren’t really elite they are an upgrade from what Lamar has right now. The Colts have signed Gardner Minshew in free agency, but he was less than impressive in the few games that we saw him play in for the Eagles this year. The Colts also have Nick Foles on their QB depth chart, but in the games that we saw him play last season for the Colts he was actually terrible. It looked like he had aged 20 years since he won the Superbowl with the Eagles, and I don’t think he should be starting for any team in the coming season. With all of this being said Lamar could be a great fit on this team. He’s mobile, which is something the Colts haven’t had in forever, and the Colts have the number 4 pick in the draft. If the Colts give the Ravens, their Fourth overall pick as well as some draft capital in the coming years then they could 100% get Lamar Jackson. I also believe that the Colts are ready to win now. They have quality players on offense as well as a very good defense. With the quality of QB that they could get with Lamar, they might just turn into Superbowl contenders in the coming year. My Favorite: Atlanta Falcons – I truly believe that the Atlanta Falcons would be the best possible fit for Lamar Jackson, besides the Ravens. The Falcons relied on the RPO in order to get the most out of the quarterbacks that they had last season in Desmond Ridder and Marcus Mariota. This type of offense centered around a skilled QB like Lamar Jackson would be extremely fun to watch. The Falcons also sit at the 8th pick in the NFL draft this year, which could be a quality pick for the Ravens to receive. But for the Falcons who are looking for elite QB talent right now, the 8th pick may be too late for them to be able to get one of the best QBs in the draft like Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud. The Falcons also have the cap space to take on a high-priced contract like the one that Lamar is looking for.

Ezekiel Elliott news
As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, it’s hard to see Zeke go. Sure, he hasn’t really been preforming recently and Dallas may have found a better running back in Tony Pollard. But, reminiscing about the times from 2016-2018 when Zeke was carrying our offense and one of the top running backs in the league is always a fun thing to do. It also sucks that his last play as a Cowboy included getting thrown on his ass and humiliated on national television.
Here are some of my thoughts on the situation. Tony Pollard proved that he is the best running back on the Cowboys roster last season as his numbers were way better than those of Zeke’s.
https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/stats/ezekiel-elliott-tony-pollard.php
Once Zeke got paid, he decided to stop playing football (not literally) for a couple of years but looked like he had started to fit into his new role toward the end of last season. By cutting his however, the Cowboys freed 10.9 million is cap space which is huge since other playmakers are going to want to get paid soon.
Adam Schefter tweeted this out earlier today:
It’s looking like Zeke will be signing with one of these three teams in the near future, but if Zeke decides to go to the Eagles, he will officially be dead to me. The Eagles did just lose Miles Sanders to the Panthers but, if Zeke does this, then it will be like Demarco Murray is leaving us all over again to go to a division rival. Fuck the Eagles. There is some reasons for him to go to the other teams though. The Jets look like they will be getting Aaron Rodgers to sign with them soon, and they just got some great receivers in Lazard and Hardman to accompany Garrett Wilson.
The Jets are going for it all this year and that may be attractive to Zeke even though he will have Breece Hall to fight with for a starting job.
The Bengals could also be an attractive landing spot for Zeke. The Bengals have proven over the last couple of years that they are legit and the team to beat in the AFC North. The Bengals have also made it to a Superbowl and an AFC Championship game in the past two seasons, so if a contender is what Zeke is looking for this would be a great landing spot for him. The only problem with Cincinnati for Zeke is that he would have to compete with a veteran RB in Joe Mixon instead of a second year RB at the Jets In the end I don’t really care where Zeke goes as long as he doesn’t end up in the division. I would love to see nothing more than him succeed on another team, but I would prefer if that team was in the AFC. In conclusion best of luck to Zeke and he will be missed by all of us in Cowboys Nation. - Jacob |
