Rangers at Canes
Tonight, we have a great matchup in the Metropolitan division as the Rangers take on the Hurricanes. The Canes are currently first in the metro while the Rangers sit in third and are trying to make up some ground. The Rangers only loss in their last 5 games as come to the Canes on Tuesday night in Pittsburg. The Canes have won three of their last five and have only won three of their last 5 home games.
The two sides have faced off three times so far this season with the Rangers winning the first two convincingly and the Canes taking down the Rangers in their most recent meeting. In the three matchups the over has hit twice with the most recent game going under. There really is not much difference between these two sides on paper. Both of the goalies have been outstanding so far this year, and as you can see below the stats for the teams are pretty much the same.
So what’s the pick tonight?
In divisional matchups like this one I like to look at who has been preforming better recently as well as who needs it more. The answer to both of these questions is the Rangers. Rangers need to win to have a chance at a higher seed and the Rangers have been on a hotty recently.
(Also the underdog has won the last four matchups between these two sides).
