Stars at Canucks
Tonight, we have another matchup including the Stars, but this time it’s based in the motherland of Canada. The Stars are coming off two dominating away wins against the Kraken and they look to continue their three game away winning streak against the Canucks tonight. The Canucks are on a little streak of their own and have won 4 straight at home with their only loss in March coming to the Wild. Both teams are HOT right now and so we should have an exciting matchup between the two tonight.
The Canucks have been averaging 4 goals for and 2 goals against in their 4-game home winning streak while the Stars have been putting the puck in the fucking net and averaging 6.33 goals per game and 3 goals against in their away streak. So, the question is, will the Canucks be able to stop the red-hot stars offense led by Jason Robertson?
I believe that the answer to that question is absolutely not. Thatcher Demko, who is right now supposed to start in goal tonight, has been pretty terrible this year. He averages 3.48 goals against per game and has a less than impressive record at 7-11-2. His struggles aren’t completely on him though as the Canucks defense lets almost 32 shots get taken a game. The Canucks are also abysmal on the penalty kill as their kill percentage is only 68.8%. The only way that I see the Canucks winning this game is if hell freezes over and the Canucks learn how to defend for a change.
With all this being said there are a couple picks in this game that I am in love with. And, although I’ve been shitting on the Canucks this whole article, their offense has been scoring. The Stars red-hot offense combined with the Canucks god awful defense means that there will be another night where Stars fans go home happy after watching their team dominate the ice. Hammer: Stars/Canucks o6 (-155) Hammer: Stars ML -145
