Blue Jackets at Capitals
The Washington Capitals and the Columbus Blue Jackets face off tonight in what is sure to be a high scoring affair. The Capitals last three games have had the scores of 5-4, 2-5, and 3-5, while the Jackets last two games have also been very high scoring, 4-7 and 2-7. The line for tonight is set at 6.5 and with how things are trending this over should be smashed right? WRONG (Maybe)
According to the Barstool Sportsbook App, “Each of the Capitals’ last 8-night games against Metropolitan Division opponents at Capital One Arena have gone UNDER the total goal line.” I know this is a weirdly specific stat, but stick with me here. Now, 4 out of the last 5 games between the Jackets and the Caps have smashed the over so that’s why I’m kind of stuck in the middle here. Both teams have the ability to get shit on, but only the Capitals have the ability to shit on someone else. This could present a problem if the Jackets decide that even though they’re eliminated from the playoffs already, they should play defense tonight. I know that I’m kind of rambling on here, but this is just how my mind works through thinking about different bets. But, let me break it down a little for you.
The Capitals are just outside of the playoff picture at this point and are looking to catch up to make the playoffs. The Jackets have exactly 0 things to play for at this point and should just roll over and die. I’m extremely torn on this over and don’t know whether I like it enough or not, but I still have some plays for y’all.
