Tampa bay lightning at toronto maple leafs Tonight, the series begins between the Lightning and the Maple Leafs in Toronto. The Leafs ended the season with a record of 50-21-11 while the Lightning finished with a record of 46-30-6. While at home this season the Leafs have been crazy good with a 27-8-6 record. The Lightning on the road have been less than impressive as they are 18-22-1 at the opposing teams’ stadiums. The Lightning are looking to turn things around on the road tonight and who better to do it against than the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL. The Tampa Bay Lightning were God awful in their last 25 games of the season. They lost 15 of their last 25 games of the season which is not exactly what you want to see when a team is going into the playoffs. Luckily for them they are playing against the worst playoff team possibly ever. The Toronto Maple Leafs have not won a playoff series since 2004. They have made the playoffs every year since 2017 and have failed to win a series in any of these years. There is a little trend going where the Leafs lose two of the first games in the series and then win the first game. This trend predicts that they will be losing the game against the Lightning tonight. With all of this being said, if the Maple Leafs will ever win a playoff series again, this would be the year it would happen. Right before the trade deadline, the Leafs acquired players like Ryan O’Reilly and Sam Lafferty to create some depth in their line-up. With this depth and the talent that they have, they should be able to make a deep run in the playoffs, but they probably won’t.
There are many reasons why I would like to pick the Leafs to win the matchup tonight. But I am a trend follower type of guy. And as I told you before the trend points to the Leafs losing the first game of this series. Although I think that they may be winning the series for the first time since 2004, I don’t believe they will win tonight. Hammer: Lightning ML Hammer: TB/Tor o6 - Jacob

Minnesota wild at dallas stars
Tonight, is the night that the NHL Playoffs begin, and each team starts their road to the Stanley Cup. The game that we’re going to be looking at here though is the Wild vs the Stars. Both of these teams made the playoffs in the 2021-2022 season, but both teams also made a first-round exit. The Wild fell to the Blues in 6 games and the Stars took it all the way to 7 but couldn’t get past Calgary.
Both of these teams had great season with the Stars finishing with a 47-21-14 record which was enough to get them the 4 seed, and the Wild finishing with a 46-25-11 record which clinched them the 6 seed. The last time that these two teams faced off in the first round of the playoffs was in 2016 where the Stars won the series in 6 games. They also beat the Wild in the first game of that series with a 4-0 win in Dallas. I could see this series going pretty much the same way. Overall, I believe that this is going to be a very tight series that probably ends up going to 7 games, but let’s talk about who I think is going to take game one tonight.
During the regular season these teams faced each other 4 times where each team won two out of the four. In those games the over only hit once and the losing team only scored over one goal one time. In tonight’s matchup we’ll see Jake Oettinger in goal for the Stars and Filip Gustavsson in goal for the Wild. Both goalies average just over 2 GAA, and both are sitting with records while over .500. The Stars have been much better at scoring this season as they have an average of 3.41 GPG while the Wild have an average of 2.91 gpg. The Wild also have many players such as Johansson and Sundqvist who are day to day, but I don’t believe they will see too much of the ice tonight. I think I can see the future with exactly how this game is going to end up so here we go. The Stars are at home and the environment in Dallas is going to be crazy. The Wild have struggled to score at times this season and Jake Oettinger has been absolutely money in net for the Stars. I don’t see a way where Oettinger lets in more than two goals tonight, but I don’t see the Stars putting too many pucks in the net tonight either. So, here are the plays: Hammer: Stars ML Hammer: Min/Dal u5.5 Sprinkle: Correct Score: Stars 3 Wild 1 - Jacob 1st ROund Series Winners LAyThe long awaited time has finally come, with the stage finally set tonight we begin the NHL playoffs. There are a lot of fun first round series matchups here to watch, and out of these matchups I think we can gain some pretty good picks. In this article however I’m going to stick to covering a first round series winners lay. Now there are quite a lot of matches here that can be viewed as a coin flip, but I think there are two series that we can be confident in picking a winner. For the first leg of this lay we are going to select our regular season wins record breaking team the Boston Bruins. With such a stacked and talented team with Linus Ullmark in goal, the star power of players such as David Pastranak and Brad Marchannd, and then amazing trade additions like Tyler Bertuzzi this team lacks any weaknesses. This Boston team from top to bottom is talented and after the recent trade window has both the depth and star power to win the Stanley cup, which is why they are the favorites as of right now. The team is facing a Panthers team who has struggled all year, and really isn't consistent at all. Yes they have the likes of Matthew Tkachuk, a young star and players such as Alexander Barkov, but this Boston team is simply too much for them to handle, and I would expect Boston to win it in five. Leg number two of this parlay is a similar story, as we head to the west and take a look at last year's Stanley cup winners the Avalanche. The Avalanche face a Kraken team who have surprised a lot of people this year with their surprising good performance in the regular season. But they are now playing against an immensely talented Avalanche team who have stars such as Nathan Mackinnion and Mikko Rantanen on offense and then Toews and Makar on the defensive end. The talent of this team is next level, and they honestly could make another run to the finals this year again this year. It's a simple lay of two heavy favorites but the value you get with them together is unpassable. -133 for a free money lay, don’t let the opportunity pass you. Pick: LAY Bruins to Win 1st Series with Avalanche to Win first Series -133 via Draftkings -Jason NHL two Leg Lay (4/11)It's been a long and exciting regular season for the NHL, with the season coming to a close we still have some great regular season matchups left with some pretty big playoff implications. Tonight's picks are going to be something a little different, the pick is gonna be a two team parlay, so let's take a look. The lay for tonight's games has to do with the Canes vs the Wings, and the Devils vs the Sabres. The Devils are currently number two in the metro, while the Canes sit at the much coveted number one seat. However only one point separates these two teams, and the Devils also have one more regular season win than the Canes do. With two games in hand for both these teams, it could come down to the wire to see who claims the number one seed for the Metro. So neither of these teams are messing around tonight, and with both teams being the home teams for their matchups this might be one of the most free plays ever. The Lay is the Devils moneyline parlayed with the canes moneyline, the odds come up to a sweet -108 to -114 depending on what books you use. These teams are home, and are in a tense faceoff with each other for that 1 seed, take the lay and grab that free money. Pick: Devils ML parlayed with Hurricanes ML -Jason Oilers at Avalanche Tonight, we have a matchup that is going to be huge with only 2-3 games left in the season for each team. The Oilers are traveling to Colorado to take on the Avalanche. Both of these teams have already secured a spot in the playoffs, but they have not secured first place in their respective divisions. The Avalanche are in first in the Central as they are sitting with the same point total as the stars and only two points ahead of the Wild. The Oilers are in second in the Pacific sitting two points behind Vegas and only 3 points ahead of the Kings. Both of these teams need this win so who is going to show up tonight?
The probability is pretty high that we will see a matchup between Skinner and Georgiev in tonight’s matchup. Both of these goalies have been outstanding in the net this season with records way over .500 and under 3 goals allowed per game. The offense of each team has also been crazy good this season as the Oilers are averaging almost 4 gpg and the Avs are averaging just under 3.5 gpg. The margin is about the same for goals against per game, but it is in the Avalanche’s favor. Both of these teams are 5-0 in their last 5 games and in each of the games they have won convincingly. So, what’s the difference between these teams? Depth. The depth of the Avs is more than that of the Oilers. The Oilers rely on McDavid and Draisaitl to score or create the majority of their opportunities. The Avalanche have a plethora of players on all lines that have the ability to score, a lot. So here are the picks: Hammer: Avs ML Hammer: EDM/COL o6.5 Sprinkle: Correct Score: Avs 4 EDM 3 Black Hawks At CanucksToday has been a thrilling first day for the Masters, but now that day one of the tourney is done we gotta find something to occupy us for the night. There is nothing better to watch tonight than this battle on ice between an extremely mid team, and an extremely ass one.
The Black Hawks who are officially in rebuild mode are traveling to Vancouver tonight to take on another team that is in sort of a rebuild phase. I have no good reason to tell you to watch this game, it has the potential to be an exciting high scoring affair, and at the same time could be an absolute shit show. The one thing I can tell you is the Canucks do own the Blackhawks, and I don't see that ending tonight. In the last five times these two teams have faced off against each other the Canucks have won four of the games by two or more goals. With the Canucks riding a 3 game home losing streak, I think this a better spot than ever for them to end it against a team that they own. I think the game could get scrapy as the Black Hawks have their fluke games like the one recently against the Flames. But on the other hand this Canucks team is going to be thirsty to get a win, and flukes are not going to happen two times in a row. The pick tonight is the Canucks -1.5, they should get this as either an empty netter or simply by dominating the Black Hawks. Pick: Canucks -1.5 -Jason Philadelphia Flyers at St. Louis Blues The St. Louis Blues are facing off the Philadelphia Flyers tonight in possibly the most mediocre game of the season. Both of these teams have been extremely mediocre this season. They have both been disappointing their fans and have given up on the playoff picture as of a couple weeks ago through trades. I don’t dislike any of these teams, but I also don’t like any of these teams. So, let’s get into the stats.
Although Jordan Binnington has been in the net for the Blues all season and has an exactly .500 record, he’s been pretty terrible for the Blues all season long. He averages 3.39 goals against per game and only has 2 shut outs in his 56 games this season. Samuel Errson is starting in net tonight for the Flyers, and he has been in the games that he has started this season. He holds a 6-2-0 record, but still allows 3.03 goals per game. Neither of these goalies have been quality, but their performances have been good enough to where both of their teams weren’t eliminated from the playoffs until recently. This is due to the facts that each team does have a decent goal scorer. Travis Konecny has 29 goals this season and Jordan Kyrou has 36. Both are also mediocre, but they have the ability to put the puck in the net. As I have made it very clear, both of these teams are the most mediocre teams in the league. But I think that they are still going to make it an exciting and high scoring affair. So, the picks are below. Hammer: Blues/Flyers o6.5 Sprinkle: Brayden Schenn o1.5 shots Sprinkle: Correct Score: Flyers 5 Blues 3 - Jacob Arizona Coyotes at The Seattle KrakenToday is a big day for sports as the Men's March Madness tournament comes to a close with its finals. With the championship game on tonight, there's not going to be a lot of attention paid to the other sporting events tonight. That being said, this hockey game is at 10, so if it looks like you're losing your coin in the championship game, you can look at this game to hopefully get some of it back. The Yotes and the Kraken are facing off for the very first time this season tonight. The Yotes are currently riding a massive seven game losing streak, and haven't won since their March 18th matchup against the Blackhawks. The Kraken haven’t been doing so hot either, in their last seven games the Kraken have lost four. With the Yotes riding a long losing streak that is bound to end at some point, and the Kraken having a very iffy record for their last set of games, I'm going to stay away from game lines for the play tonight. Instead the play for tonight is going to be focused on Yotes young superstar Clayton Keller. Keller has been one of the few bright spots for this struggling Yotes team this year, and has notched an impressive 82 points so far this season. The prop we are going to look at is his sog’s(shots on goal), which are set at a 2.5 for -140. Keller has been hitting this line pretty regularly, in his last five games he has recorded 3,0,5,7, and 4. Yes there is a zero in there, but it's clearly an outlier. With the Kraken being big home favorites tonight, the Yotes are predicted to be the team down for the matchup. This means they are going to be relying heavily on their stars to keep them in the game, such as Keller. If the Yotes are down the line becomes even more favorable, as he should be shooting any chance he gets for the team to catch back up. So with that being said, let's let the young star bring us back home tonight, and take Clayton Keller’s o2.5 sog. Pick: Clayton Keller o2.5 SOG -Jason Rangers at sabres
Today we have a battle of two eastern conference teams the Rangers and the Sabres. The Rangers have already clinched their spot in the playoffs, but they are looking to advance to a higher seed as they are only 5 points out of first in the Metro. The Sabres are not technically out of the playoff picture yet, but a lot of things would have to happen in order for them to make it in. All things considered I don’t believe the Sabres will make the playoffs, but I don’t think they had a bad season. I don’t follow them religiously so I’m not sure what the preseason expectations of the fans were but sitting at 77 pts and only 6 pts behind the Panthers sounds pretty good to me.
The Sabres are starting their rookie goalie tonight, Devon Levi. He was a seventh-round pick in the 2020 draft and is making his debut in the NHL.
If you ask me this is an absolutely brutal way to introduce him to the league. I mean why not get him experience when you’re playing the Coyotes or the Ducks or a team like that. Starting him off against a legit scoring offense like the Rangers is either gonna make the league see him as a god, if he does well, or make him seem like he is a pushover who isn’t worth shit. The Rangers are also starting their backup goalie tonight, but he has seen the NHL ice before. Halak has a 2.68 GAA and a 90.5 save %. Both of these teams absolutely fire shots at the net with the Sabres shooting 32.16 per game and the Rangers 31.88. With one goalie making his debut and the other being a backup I could see a lot of goals being scored.
With all of this analysis and stats about shots and the goalies you can probably already see where I am going with this pick. Unless the rookie decides that tonight he’s going to put on an absolute masterclass, this over should smack. Hammer: Rangers/Sabres o6.5 Sprinkle: Devon Levi u27.5 saves Sprinkle: Correct Score: Rangers 5 Sabres 3 NHL PICKS 3/30Best Hockey Bets 3/30
With it being a much looked forward to Opening Day for MLB, the action on the ice tonight is going to be very overlooked. Don’t know too much about MLB so I’m going to stick to my strengths tonight and give you my thoughts on some of my favorite picks in chell tonight. There are a plethora of matchups tonight, with a total of eleven games. So without further due here's tonight's picks. Predators @ Penguins This game is going to be a hard fought matchup tonight, both teams sit in fifth place for their divisions, and are fighting to gain their spots in the playoffs. This Nashville team has just come off a very impressive and hard fought 2-1 win against the Bruins, who are the consensus number one team in the league right now. Pittsburgh on the other hand is coming off a brutal 7-4 away loss to Detroit, and will be looking to get back on their feet tonight in front of their home crowd. The game line is set at o6.5 tonight, which personally I'm not the biggest fan of. Pittsburgh has gone over 6.5 in 3 of their last 5 games, while Nashville has only hit that over in 2 of their last 5. The good thing is that Saros is the keeper tonight for the Preds, and he was in net for those two games that went over, and he's in net again tonight against Pittsburgh. My play of the night for this game is to drop the o6.5 to an o6 for -140. The odds are decent at -140, and the over 6 gives you the safety net of an o6 push. Pick: Preds @ Penguins o6 Ducks @ Kraken The Ducks travel to Seattle tonight for a late 10 pm matchup, and I couldn't love this game more. The Kraken have been having ups and downs recently with some big wins, and some big losses. This Kraken team however is an extremely talented team and have a team full of extremely fast skaters. They have posted some impressive wins in the month of March, with a 3-2 away win against the Avs, and 5-4 away overtime thriller against the Stars, and an away 7-2 thrashing of the Predators. Yes, they’ve also had a bunch of losses in that mix too, but tonight they are facing the Ducks, who quite simply suck. The Ducks are honestly in the argument for worst team in the league right now, and when these two teams played early in the month the Kraken defeated them 5-2. There's two picks you could take a look at tonight for this matchup. Pick one is the Kraken -1.5 at -145, not the highest odds, but still pretty decent. The other pick you could take a look at is the o6.5 for this game. With the Kraken being at home, and great at counter attacking they should have a scoring frenzy tonight. The team is simply better, and after a rough set of games I think this home matchup against the Ducks is a great bounce back spot for them. Picks: Kraken -1.5, Ducks @ Kraken o6.5 Capitals @ Lightning The Capitals head to Tampa Bay tonight to take on the Lightning, and my picks for the game are going to be extremely unusual. For pretty much the first time ever i'm going to be looking at the under for a hockey game. This is extremely new territory for me so this would be a pick I would advise you to heed caution too. The Caps in general on the road have been pretty stingy in allowing goals. And Tampa has also been selectively sting on allowing goals in recent matchups. The over right now is at 6.5, and I simply don’t see this being a seven goal affair tonight. I can see the game going 3-2 Tampa, or 4-2 Tampa and hitting a max of six goals. Rooting for unders sucks, which is why I usually stay away from them. We gamble not only to win money, but to enjoy watching exciting games for teams we otherwise wouldn't care for. But every now and then you gotta try something new and root for something different. Picks: Caps@Tampa u6.5 -Jason |
