Pereira vs. adesanya 2
Tonight, we have the Middleweight rematch between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya for the belt. The last time that these two fought Pereira got the best of Izzy with a 5th round TKO. The last time that these two fought I thought that Izzy had the fight won. On my card he was up 3-1 in rounds for the fight before the fifth round. Then, once the fifth round started, Pereira knew that he needed to finish the fight, or he was done. He proceeded to absolutely manhandle Izzy after that and won with the TKO.
Izzy has made it very clear how important this fight is to him through the interviews and pre match media, so let’s see what he can do tonight.
Stylebender has a record of 23-2-0 in the UFC while Pereira fast-tracked his way to the title fight with a record of 7-1-0. On paper there isn’t much of a difference between these two men. They are both 6’4”, they’re both in their mid-thirties, and Adesanya only has a one in reach advantage over Pereira. These two fighters also have a very similar fighting style. Neither of them have ever won a fight in the UFC by submission and I don’t see that changing tonight. They both like to stay on their feet and try to win through striking. It’s hard to choose between these two as they are both obviously top tier fighters. But I do have some picks for you guys.
The two fighters aren’t accustomed to losing which is making me think that Izzy is going to come out and give it everything that he has. I don’t think that Izzy is going to lose to this guy twice in a row as losing should have lit a flame inside of him. So, here are the picks: Hammer: Adesanya ML Hammer: o3.5 rounds Sprinkle: Adesanya by decision
